Eso laments corrupt leadership in Nigeria

RETIRED Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Kayode Eso, has identified corrupt leadership as the most worrisome of the numerous problems bedevilling Nigeria.

Justice Eso, while giving a remark, on Tuesday, at J.F. Odunjo 2010 Memorial Lecture held at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, said Nigeria was in a dicey state because its leaders were corrupt and destroyed resources meant for development.

The former Supreme Court Justice, who described Joseph Folahan Odunjo as an exemplary personality and a man of great pen, who devoted his life time to writing, lamented that the country that produced Odunjo had unfortunately produced rogues, thieves and vampires, whose sole goal was to satisfy their greed and destroy resources meant for the development of the country.

“Odunjo was not like those vampires who destroyed our resources in the name of election into offices. It is just worrisome that the country that produced Odunjo has also produced the rogues, thieves and vampires in politics,” Eso lamented.
